EDGE Drivers Out In Force at Fresno Chapter Event
Nearly everyone from EDGE was out for one of the final Fresno Chapter SCCA events of the year.  A brief rundown and some great pics from Bryan Heitkotter.

EDGE to Race in the 24 Hours of LeMons!
EDGE is going racing--Sanford and Son style! The 24 Hours of LeMons (no its not a typo) is a race for cars that must be worth no more than $500. Safety equipment (seats, rollbar, brakes, wheels and tires) are not included in that total, but everything else in the car counts! We have procured a fine specimen, a 150k mile, 1985 325e (for Extra slow) that had an unfortunate incident with a semi trailer. Some cutting and gutting and its off to Maier Racing for a Roll Bar.

The event takes place at the Altamont Speedway (www.altamontracing.com) on a paved semi-oval. After what appears to be some crazy qualifying, we will race for 6 hours on Saturday Night, followed by insane partying, followed by 10 more hours of racing on Sunday! EDGE has signed on as one of three primary sponsors for the Golden Gate Chapter BMW Club Driving Events Program. 2006 M5 DYNO and Test Drive--AMAZING!!
This week we had an opportunity to Dyno a brand new (1600 miles) M5. Say what you will about the looks of the M5, but there is no denying the performance of this thoroughbred. BMW finally took away some of the babysitters that have made dynoing SMG-equipped cars such a challenge in the past, and this beauty delivered. After the dyno, the gracious owner allowed me to take it out for a quick spin--quick being the operative word! Aside from the aforementioned performance, the COOLEST thing about the M5 was the active side bolster system. Imagine sitting in comfy, air-conditioned seats, barrelling into a corner and having the proper bolster INFLATE at just the right moment to support you through the corner. Utterly amazing!
